East Tennessee State University athletics has created a tradition of national success over the last 25 years. As a department, ETSU has had numerous NCAA appearances in basketball, golf, tennis, cross country and track & field – most recently sending both the men's and women's basketball teams to the 2009 NCAA Championships. To give our outstanding athletes the finest in training and competitive venues, ETSU has launched an athletic capital campaign, "The Pathway to Excellence," that will enable the Buccaneers to compete in venues that are regarded the best in their class.
The Summers-Taylor Stadium is the home of the newest DI men's soccer program in the country. The complex is a 3.3 million dollar investment that includes:
- One competition grade field
- One practice field
- Seating for 1000 with 250 chair-back seats
- Hillside seating
- Gated entry concourse, concessions, restrooms, and storage
- Press boxes for game day opperations and media
- State-of-the-art scoreboard
The Summers-Taylor Stadium not only takes ETSU athletics to another level of training and competition, but will also greatly enhance the game-day atmosphere that we share with the community. We believe that this venue is a top soccer facility in the country and is capable of attracting conference, regional, and national events, as well as professional showcases.
